Meaty Spanish feast
Sirloin on the bone |
Lobos came from ex members of the ever popular Brindisa tapas chain. I dined at the the first Lobos in Brough Market back in 2015 and I really enjoyed it. Lobos focus on Spanish wine, sherry, meaty tapas and pork especially, and well known Iberico pork is perhaps the very best pork you get in the world. The new Lobos at Soho located on Frith street, similar to the first site, the space is fairly limited with not much room. As I have been to the original Lobos a number of times, I ordered a few dishes that is excursive to the new Soho site.

The lobster and chicken pot was an interesting one for me, I have saw some high profile fine dining French restaurant mixing seafood and chicken in a single dish and I guess this Lobos dish is riding on similar concept. What matter most was it was pretty special, the chicken was very moist and the savoury jus blended in wonderfully to the lobster. The quality of the lobster can not be questioned, fresh and sweet just as any good lobster should be. The sirloin on the bone was very tender and loaded with plenty of bold and smoky flavours, it was steak of a very high level.

Normally you would associate with small portion and overpriced tiny dishes from a tapas restaurant but that is not the case with Lobos. Price-wise is towards the premium end, but at the same time the quality of the ingredients is a notch above most restaurants. Overall, it was a fabulous meal and it offered something difference to the usual tapas you would get in a Spanish restaurant in London, it was a very meaty affair and one that I would recommend for any serious meat lovers.
