Pascade


Pascade is a Paris restaurant by the one of the most talented French chef, Alexandre Bourdas. For his restaurant in Paris, instead of trying to create another fine dining venue, he has created a rather interesting casual concept, serving nothing but a dish called the pascade, a pastry that contained egg and flour (similar to Yorkshire pudding, but sweeter and crisper). You can either pick from savoury or sweet pascade, with a wide range of ingredients to choose from such as prawn and beef to passion fruit and chocolate.

My Rostang'Addict contained a selection of earthy, exquisite items such as artichoke, foie gras and truffle, every single piece of the ingredients were cooked perfectly with the freshness of the celery and green apple added a lovely contrast of texture and clean flavours. But even better on the day was the beef pascade, the steak was cooked pink, finely seasoned with great tender texture. The pepper and mustard have been just at the perfect balance, it was truly outstanding. Dessert of apples and Rum pascade was also impressive, the sharpness of the apples, combining with the mild sweetness of the rum combined nicely with the custard and pastry.

The food at Pascade turned out to be nothing short of quality, clever uses of ingredients with the perfect cooking execution. Also, I really welcome such a refreshing concept, it makes the whole meal affair a touch of excitement and fun. Our waiter on the was excellent, he might not speak the perfect English, but his food and wine suggestion was spot on with a touch of humour. Pascade is a great place if you seek something unusual and quick in a relaxing setting, the central location near the Paris Opera is also a great bonus.
